How Contractors Are Verified
Before receiving payments, Stripe performs Know Your Business (KYB) verification: business name and EIN, government ID check, and bank account verification. Every contractor receiving payments through BuildLedger is verified — a significant protection vs. cash or peer-to-peer apps.
Payment Methods
- ACH bank transfer: 2–3 business days, 0.8% fee capped at $5
- Credit or debit card: Immediate, 2.9% + 30 cents
- Text-to-Pay: SMS payment link — homeowner pays from their phone, no login required
Is My Financial Information Safe?
BuildLedger never stores your card number, bank account, or routing number. All sensitive data is handled exclusively by Stripe, which maintains PCI DSS Level 1 compliance — the highest certification available.
